A Day in OA: Practical Abstinence

  • Menlo Church 4150 Piccadilly Lane San Mateo, CA (map)

Join us for an interactive day with speakers sharing their experiences, tips and tricks on how to remain abstinent and sane through some of life's biggest stressors: Travel, Tragedy, Illness, Breakups, Moving, Job Loss/Changes, Financial Challenges.

Hear about different strategies to manage your abstinence no matter where you are, where you go. Supporting your abstinence and practicing self-care will create freedom from fear, isolation and food addiction. For example:

  • Staying abstinent while Traveling: day trips, weekend getaways, business travel or vacationing anywhere in this great big world.

  • Remaining abstinent through Tragedy, Trials, and Tribulations: death, illness, accidents, or major changes in life like job loss, financial crisis, breakups, conflict.

You can anonymously submit any question(s) or challenges you would like posed to our speakers (click on link below) or, at the event we will provide pen and paper to write them down. We will address as many questions as possible. There will also be time set aside to ask questions at the event.
